2018 Training for Presidents & League Board Members

What: Annual District Training Program

Who: League Presidents, Board Members & League Volunteers

Where: Heatherwood Middle School (1419 Trillium Blvd. SE, Mill Creek)

Training Schedule:

Time Room Event Description
9:00 AM - 9:25 AM Cafeteria Doors Open Networking Network with other local leagues.
9:25 AM - 9:50 AM Cafeteria Welcome & Introductions Doug Sheldon, District 1 STaff member, will begin the program. Brief message from our District Umpires; and introduction to D-BAT Bothell.
9:50 AM - 11:10 AM See Below Training Sessions District Staff will lead five training sessions listed below. Open to all local league board members and volunteers.
11:10 AM - 11:30 AM Cafeteria Wrap Up District Staff will be on hand to answer questions.


Interleague Program (Room 203)
Who Should Attend: League Baseball & Softball Vice Presidents/Directors, League Division Coordinators, and Managers/Coaches.

District Interleague Director, Paul Dini, will provide a review of the 2018 Interleague program and gather feedback for planning the 2019 Interleague season. This session is a must to understand how Interleague will be structured and your role as a league administrator and team volunteer in ensuring your teams and families will have a positive Interleague experience.

Board Policy: Organization, Documents, and Member Responsibilities (Room 202)
Who Should Attend: Presidents are required to attend this session; open to all board members.

Assistant District Administrator, Bill Miele, will have a presentation for Board members on how your league should be functioning as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. Bill will be discussing your role and responsibilities as a Board. This is an important meeting that all board members should plan on attending.

Best Practices for Player Management (Library)
Who Should Attend: League Player Agents, Registrars, and other board members.

Assistant District Administrators, Leslie Lehmann and Joyce Dini, both former player agents, will discuss how to develop effective procedures for player management. This program is a must for all new and experienced player agents to understand the guidelines and protections required by Little League and Washington state for all your players.

Safety Plan (Room 204)
Who Should Attend: League Safety Officers.

District Safety Officer, Michelle Corsi, will discuss the role of the Safety Officer including completing your league's A.S.A.P guide efficiently.

Nike & D-BAT (Room 201)
Who Should Attend: Uniform Coordinators & Equipment Coordinators.

Nike will present their online uniform program. Followed by D-BAT presentation on their facilities, including their new facility in Bothell. Each program will be 30 minutes.
